Street Style Invading the Streets!

No it’s not the plague, but it’s a whole lot better. Today, people aren’t just looking at what’s in fashion or what the magazines proclaim the hottest thing this season. If you want to know what’s hot then all you have to do is turn to the streets!
Street style is invading the nation and army of chicly dressed locals are strutting their stuff on the streets where onlookers can easily spot them and yes, admire them.

If you want to know what’s sizzling under the sun then why not go to the nearest park and seat on the bench. It won’t be long until you see wonderfully dressed individuals walking along the park to get to wherever they have to. These people don’t necessarily have to be models but they are nothing more but someone like you, a local who just know how to dress well and even get the attention of several pedestrians out there.

High-fashion and couture are somehow can only be seen in limited places as opposed to the more laid-back and casual street style. Street style can easily be something you’re comfortable to wear, perhaps the clothes that you would wear to see and hangout with your friends – only with a little spice with the help of coordinating colors and accessories. Aside from the well-dressed people you see showing their outfits, you will of course see another example of what you might call came from the “something-you-must-never” wear collection. There are also faux-pas with street style and these clothes are those that don’t flatter the body or the color of the person wearing it.

Street style is a great way to get inspirations from and true enough, designers from high-fashion actually looks at what the masses are wearing in order to come up with new trends and fashion items that would really click and hit the market.

It really is a fashion jungle out there on the streets and more and more people are getting in touch with their fashion sense. A lot of people aren’t turning to magazines or what the fashion industry dictates as hot items this season. People who are into fashion, looking good and feeling great are making a scene right there on the streets.

They aren’t label-conscious any longer and would purchase whatever would fit their budget. This is definitely an eye-opener for a lot of people who are so hung up on looking good and following fashion as religion.

Street Style is the Solution for Fashionistas!

To most people, the street is nothing more than a paved road as a means of transportation, a place where you can walk, hang and pass through but to those who are serious about dressing up and showing their unique style – the street is a catwalk where they strut their style and creativity with their outfits.

Labeled as street style, it is what people wear on the streets which is not as high or as elite as high-fashion couture but is a down-to-earth style more on casual outfits.

People who have their own street style or style of their own don’t necessarily follow the hottest trends of fashion. They simple create their own style and follow it depending on any occasion.

Street Style is also less concerned about designer labels and this is true with the fashion blogs that’s sprouting everywhere over the internet world.

The amazing thing about street style is its down-to-earth vibe as you don’t have to be a super model to be able wear the style that you want, all you have to do is wear something that you want in your own style and go out on the streets. You won’t just be pleasing yourself but you also give other people a treat for their eyes with your style.

A lot of people take pleasure in looking at what people are wearing on the street. They would hang out in park benches, observing the pigeons and the people passing by in wonderful styles and clothing.

Looking at models in magazines and fashion runway is not the hottest thing to day but looking at the styles of people walking on the streets.
It provides inspiration to a lot of people who would also like to have their own style and doesn’t evoke envy unlike what a lot of the fashion industry companies try to show.

Street style is also a source of ideas for designers as it shows what the people are comfortably wearing. It is also a way of other people to show their creativity, with looks that would flatter their body type or figure and great color coordination.

There are a lot of people who knows how to dress on the streets, that’s why people have dedicated blogs and websites to street looks. Today, you can check out what people are wearing in London, New York, Tokyo and other places with the help of fashion street blogs.

Street Style is the Trend Today

It’s impossible not to have heard of street style today as it seems to steal the scene from fashion magazines and other fashion prints as the entrance of fashion blogs by the masses all over the globe were welcomed with shrieks of appreciation.

In order to keep up with the changing times and rapid arrival and appreciation of street style, even online magazines and magazines are also taking their own street style features.

Street style or street fashion started a very long time ago as a lot of people tend to dress in order to express their creativity and fashion sense. The mods and rockstars have perhaps been the most famous street fashion there was during the mid 1900s. Rockstars were popular to the teenagers to the early 20s who seem to rebel with the common rules of life and the mods (short for modern) were the preppy group who have clashed against the Rockstars. These two groups had their own bickering and fights and one will notice if one kid is a member of either group simply by looking at what he or she was wearing.

Eventually the flower people bloomed in during the 1960s to late 1970s that seem to dominate the streets with their laidback style and comfortable psychedelic clothes. These hippies simply didn’t express their group through their clothing but it also imbibes its culture, the same with the Rockstars and Mods.

Today, street styles don’t necessarily identify cultural or sub-groups in society but is a favorite method of fashion savvy individuals in order to express their creativity and fashion sense.

People have started having their own style brewed from their own homes, it ignited the imagination to those creative ones who prefer to sew their own clothes.
Today, celebrities with great fashion senses aren’t the only ones chased by fashion paparazzi as even a no-name chic can be seen wearing something cute over the internet.

Contests about fashion have also changed as websites like wikifashionista.com have boldly launched their contest about street style at the end of summer. Contestants can have the chance of winning great giveaways such as shoes and hand bags!

The mechanics is fairly simple and rules can be found here at wikfashionista.com/contest.
These contests are products of the popularity of street fashion which seem to invade the big cities of the world. It seems that street fashion will go a long way.

Street Style Love is Spreading

Viruses have their own way of spreading, it could be by air, blood or by any other transmission. The thing here is that viruses spread fast and can be an epidemic. Today, it’s not a deadly virus that is currently spreading but the love for street style is definitely spreading like an uncontrollable bug over the internet. Infecting every fashionista out there, compelling them to follow the trend and walk down the streets as if they would in a fashion runway.

Street style is something that has started a very long time ago but now has only been looked at carefully and taken notice.

It is a global phenomenon as every big city all over the world today will have citizens dressing up to look better than the rest or to show their creative sense through clothing. Clothes don’t have to be uniforms that will make all of us look the same but it is something that we can choose in order to show our personality and spunk, so to speak.

Back then, it was just a few people who would dress up a bit flamboyantly but when The Sartorialist came to the world of the internet, a lot of other blogs followed and also started photographing people on the streets. It was like a domino effect that since people were taken photographed and posted online, a lot of people have started dressing outrageously on the streets in the hopes to have their 15 seconds of fame.

Although it is a novelty way of getting a little bit more of attention it didn’t really stop a lot of people from dressing the way they want to.
But if you really want to get noticed and posted on the internet and also have the chance to win amazing prizes.

Wikifashionista.com is offering a contest where you can show off your street style and be able to get the chance to win goodies. The rules are simple and can be found at wikifashionista.com/contest. The video will then have to be uploaded on youtube and you also have to register with the website in order to be able to submit your link and your video to be posted on the website to get votes. Most voted video will be the winner, so check out your closet and start recording!

Street Style Can Win You Some Goodies

Although a lot of people aren’t concerned about what they wear on the streets, there are those who would die if they don’t have the perfect pair of shoes that would go with their outfit. The thing is you don’t have to worry about that. Creativity is a gift that a lot of us are blessed and for those who are creative enough with their outfits and fashion statements, nothing will ever faze them even if they don’t have the perfect shoes.

Statement in fashion is important as this is what the boys at the ghetto use. Statements like “You don’t want to come near this place or even mess with me or my homies!” really speak louder when expressed in fashion, good for the eyes too instead of just screaming it to people passing by.
The ghetto have been a place for the Latinos and African-Americans where they grew up and guard as well from the outside force in order to protect their families. Their style was brandished with heavy blings in gold and silver around their necks and fingers. Their baggy shirts and jeans were a staple, showing a laidback beat and an always on-the-go pair of rubber shoes helps mobility around their area of territory. They would also carry a boom-box or what they call a “ghetto blaster” on their shoulders. It marked the unmistakable style of ghetto but this was in the 80s. Things have changed greatly since then and people are getting their own style or whatever they want to portray.

Dressing up can also be quite expensive but street style takes notice of flea markets and takes advantage of bargains, it is a style that has no qualms about designer brands and expensive status items.
But what if dressing up in a style that you want can help you gain a few goodies like handbags and maybe even the perfect pair of shoes?

Wikifashionista.com has launched their much awaited contest called the summer end street style contest that would let street style fashionistas to be able strut their style on the streets and have the opportunity to win amazing items through voting.
All they have to do is read the instructions at wikfashionista.com/contest and follow it.
Not only can you walk down the streets with your own style on, you can also win some fabulous prizes. What are you waiting for? Join now!

Street Style Blogs Vs. Online Look Books

Today, fashion is probably one of the great interests of the youth and a huge number of serious dressers no matter the age. It is somehow an obsessive hobby to some or something that shows their status in society or it can be a way to channel their own personality.

The internet is filled with all the information and looks you may need or want. There are thousands of videos uploaded under the category of fashion and hundreds of blogs that’s dedicated to fashion as well. For a lot of people who are serious about their looks and would like to show the whole world, there are look-book websites where they can upload their photos with them wearing their own created style.

There are also fashion street style blogs that is managed by one person or a few who goes around the streets of a city or town, taking pictures of the people walking around.
There is a huge gap between the two despite being under the same category, dressing up in fashionable styles.

Street Style is more on what real people are wearing in the day or night while look books online sometimes just show pictures of people who wanted to take photos of themselves wearing something extravagant or too dramatic that they can’t walk out of the house in it.

When it comes to taking photographs, look books online tend to angle the shots so as to make the subject or model look as though he or she is a snob and the people seldom smiles while on the other hand street style blogs offer photographs that are simple and taken to make the subjects look flattering in their clothes and no tricky angles included whatsoever.

Blogs about street style are more realistic as these people who manage their blogs simply go to the parks and take a shot of someone who sports their home-brewed style. Look books as they say are more on the narcissistic side of the wearer as they take photos of themselves and upload it themselves online.
Street style bloggers choose who they want to take photos of and feature on their blog, it is often unsuspected of the subject.

These blogs today can be found by the hundreds and there are a lot of photos to be found by real people wearing real styles on the streets. It inspires a lot of fashion enthusiasts around the globe by simply looking at what others are wearing outside.

Street Style Madness

The madness for street style has increased due to the proliferation of fashion blogs online featuring the wonderful style of pedestrians out on the streets of one of the fashion capitals. True enough it has become a phenomenal hit around the globe and a lot of people has taken inspiration from these photos taken from the streets. More and more people are following the steps to dressing up to express their personality and creativity.

Street fashion is what a lot of people are tuning into instead of the fashion magazines out one street stands and not even the celebrities are the center of attention. Rather, it’s a no-name person being in the spotlight even just for a while. In fashion blogs, people you see are practically just the average Joes simply out to see the day although, they are dressed in styles that are enough to catch someone’s attention.

Fortunately enough, magazines and online magazines are taking pictures of these stylish pedestrians. From New York Times even to CNN, street style is now being included. Everyone really has a reason to dress up in ways when going out. There is definitely a lot to learn from the people you see on the streets and sometimes, it’s quite intimidating to actually imitate the style in magazines and it’s also more intimidating as the clothes in magazines are always labeled.

There are those who are afraid to wear something outrageous on the streets but since street style has become popular, it’s easy and clear to see how others have managed to flaunt their styles outside.

For people who have a passion for street fashion then why not join a contest? Wikifashionista.com has launched their end of summer street style contest. Street Style Blogs are Trying to Kill Fashion Magazines

It seems that today, magazines are nothing more than items in a newsstand collecting dusts as street style blogs are being viewed by the millions all over the world – some of them are even turned to international bestselling books.

We can’t deny it that things are changing and most of the things that we see today that are tangible have been turned to their digital counterpart for free consumption.

Street style blogs, believe it or not, started only as a hobby for most people. Blogs are free to be viewed and as more views a blog gets, the more opportunity it has for advertising and there is no need to ever charging the readers.

Magazines of course have a lot of costs, from models to photographers and other staffs that works to keep the magazine alive and number one. These magazines aren’t free and people still need to buy them despite the many advertisements available on the pages of the magazines.
People are economical nowadays especially with the sudden decline of the global economy initiated by the United States. It has a domino effect that left a lot of us shocked and cutting coupons to save money when grocery shopping.

Websites like online magazines have also emerged aside from street style blogs that seem to be very popular today. The demand for something tangible and to flip through pages seemed to decline and more people are tuning in online for free information and fashion tips.

We all want to save money and through street style we can, as this form of fashion doesn’t bother too much with designer labels. It is actually more encouraged to scour through flea markets than buy from expensive boutiques.

Dressing up can also give you the opportunity to get free items like handbags and shoes.
Wikifashionist.com, a website about fashion that is also becoming popular, has launched their contest called the Summer End Street Style Contest – giving away goodies that are rare to find.

If you are one of the people who are into street fashion then why not try your hand with the contest? There is nothing to lose but so much to gain when joining, you may also have your style posted on a website that everyone might see and take inspirations from. Street Style Better Than Runway

Fashion enthusiasts have always fancied the street and wasn’t it Yves Saint-Laurent led the way in 1060 with his scandalous Beal Collection, which paid tribute to the beatniks who moped around Paris’ Left Bank in motorcycle jackets, black leotards and flats.
It’s of course the vulgar and experimental masses that a lot of designers have taken inspiration from as the roam around the streets.
Of course a cynic might argue that co-opting rather than creating trends, haute couture has been trying to defend its prestige and authority in a rather chaotic and ever increasing anarchic fashion world, one in which the masses are choosing to have outfits of ready-to-wear and cultural anti-elitism dares and threaten to win the day.

Street style has always been there and it didn’t really disappear. Of course before when fashion runways were created, people would go outside wearing their most elegant look and would bask in the eyes of passersby. Didn’t really change much today. People are still going out, dressing to kill and strutting what they have on the streets. It’s of course not the time yet for runway to bow down to street style as street style is more on the experimental side when it comes to fashion.

People out on the streets would rather wear something comfortable but there are those who see the street as their own fashion runway where they showcase their latest looks and walk down on the pavement they see as the catwalk.

Of course it’s not easy to stroll around in a pair of leather shoes and most of the time it’s just the insiders who know where to look but fashion does have an obsession with the street, after all people would wear something out on the street first and foremost and when was the last time the average Joe ever been to a runway show?

Today, people don’t have to go to runway shows to see what’s hot. It’s already out there on the street basking under the sun or sizzling under the moon. The street is definitely a place where you can show off your outfit and there will definitely a lot of pedestrians who will what you’re wearing, whether you’re wearing something worth buzzing about and something that will land you a few admirers or something that’s enough for you end up as fashion street style road-kill.

High-fashion may have to stoop down and see what’s on the streets!

Street Style Attack

Everyone’s been going over street style and is dressing up to look dashing while walking on the pavement for everyone to see. Roaming the street can be quite daunting when wearing heels but not the seriously fashionable ones who love showing off their legs while wearing sexy heeled shoes!

Every day, you can go out on the streets of New York, London, Hong Kong and Japan to witness the wonderfully dressed people living around the area. There will always be a fashionable soul within us that is simply waiting to be unleashed.
What a simple and fast way to unleash it through street style!

Believe it or not, sometimes just being able to show the world our fashion sense and style is a whole lot fulfilling than walking down the runway. Of course, the runway only requires model to ramp down the designer clothing they’re wearing. But the fact is, now everyone is fit to walk down the runway as deemed by the fashion world but we are all entitled to our own style and lucky enough, we are free to release our creative fashion by simply walking along the streets.

Street style doesn’t only provide pleasure for the wearer but also for the spectators or other pedestrians. People who are dressed well are a treat to the eyes. It always feels better to check out other styles while sitting down on a park bench and looking at the well-dressed people passing by than flipping through a magazine and looking at pictures of beautifully clad models or celebrities.

Street fashion as what others call it, provides an inspiring feeling rather than envy. It provokes people to wear what they want to wear and aren’t as intimidating as models.
If you are good with your style on the streets then why not join a contest?
That’s right, wikifashionista.com is an online fashion website that has launched a video contest aptly named “Summed End Street Style Contest”.

Anyone can join as long as they have a passion for fashion especially on the streets!
All they have to do is follow the very simple instructions and take a video of themselves wearing their oh-so-fabulous clothing while walking it out on the streets, runway style!

Street Style Aren’t Only For the Youth

We all know that most kids are street urchins, we know this because perhaps when we too were in our teenage years of angst and trouble, we were hanging out on the streets wearing something that would make us look cool and perhaps even unique to get the right kind of attention with a statement “you don’t want to mess with me”. Times have changed and the teens today have a different style now and so are the older the generation of people.

Street style aren’t just for the kids who would sometimes make pranks around the corner in order to amuse themselves but the older generation too of adult men and women have always been into street fashion.
Believe it or not, the mere routine of walking from one place to another can be a form of fashion statement – that is, if you are wearing the right outfit.

It was Japan that started the movement with street style with diverse and jaw-dropping designs and looks for the street. Kids there aren’t abashed whether they would attract the wrong attention and the wild fashion available may sometimes be found quirky, juvenile and cute at the same time.

All over the world, men and women would dress up and show their taste in clothing out there on the street regardless of their age. Today, you can see women in elegant clothing down to the funky carefree clothes available to show their style down the street. Even men won’t be left behind and they too have come up with their own style, fusing hip-hop and male sensitivity all in one, of course, to attract the right attention.

Street fashion has always been a movement, a sort of free-style fashion for everyone who can walk down the street or roll down it. It doesn’t discriminate and has no weigh issues that can qualify you or disqualify you with the clothing you would like to wear. It is in short, a freedom for people who are in love with style and aren’t afraid to show their personality.
People through this are finding ways on how to express their emotions and their personality to the world. Their funkiness is often noticed by the way they wear an item or what sort of clothing they prefer. While others who are uptight can easily be spotted with firm clothing and shiny shoes. It really all depends on your style, go ahead, show the streets!

Street Style Fashion Dos and Don’ts on Wearing Leather Jackets

Leather jackets, they really never go out of style. The thing with leather, though, is that it can look super awesome or incredibly ghastly. Leather is much loved in street style fashion, so I believe there are right and wrong ways to wear it—particularly leather jackets. Leather, which can be buttery smooth or tough and luxurious or badass, comes in many different silhouettes. The goal is to be the cool guy in the room exuding James Deanery, not the sleazy dude exuding douchebaggery. Let us guide you in the right direction in choosing the perfect leather jacket for street style wear. We've provided the Dos and Don'ts examples for the three popular styles: the blazer, the bomber, and the motorcycle.

• The Blazer

Go simple and fitted with a straightforward collar. Avoid bulky fits, weird finishes, and superfluous zippers that is on the euro steez.

• The Bomber

Stick to minimal details like epaulets. Don't go detail-crazy with chest pockets, lower pockets, and sleeve pockets. Overdosing on pockets will make you look like a tool. Also, for the love of God, do not EVER, ever, ever buy a leather jacket that has that plasticky sheen if you are working with any bells and whistles whatsoever. There's an unsightly bubble at every stitch point.

• The Motorcycle

The motorcycle jacket is already a tricky silhouette because it has to hit right at the hip, so keep it classic and minimal. Don't go avant-garde Ă  la ‘The Matrix’ or you'll look like a vampire biker. Plus, a leather jacket should be an investment piece and you'll quickly tire of anything too flashy or trendy. Moreover, it makes no sense to us that the sleeves on the right are loose and unfinished.

Street Style Fashion Guide: The City Look

The world of urban fashion has come a long way since its beginnings in the 1970s. Urban clothing, also known as hip hop clothing, street style or the ‘city look’ has expanded to now being created by some of the lead designers around the world. Urban fashion started in New York, New York, and then quickly after, the trend spread to other large cities, including Detroit, Los Angeles and Chicago.

When hip hop music started to become more popular in the late 1970s, listeners began following the street style fashion wear of certain popular hip hop artists. The shoe sales of brands such as Nike and Adidas began to skyrocket. Their shoes and track clothing were modeled after rap artists such as LL Cool J and Run DMC.

After street shoes had grown in popularity, so did accessories such as extra-large sunglasses, gold and silver plated necklaces and oversized earrings. Hip hop artists such as Salt-n-Pepa sported their baggy jeans, with large hooped earrings and plated jewelry. Both men and women expressed interest in the new style.

In the early 1990s, a dramatic change in colors began with respect to urban clothing. Neon and brightly colored shirts, pants, hats and accessories began to emerge. Such items of clothing were mixed and matched to create a bold look on the streets. T-shirts that looked as if they had been spray painted, or ‘tagged’ also become popular, imitating a look that projected what was actually seen on the streets.

During the mid 1990s famous hip hop artists caught on to the trend and started becoming designers for their very own lines of urban street style clothing. Certain brands that were already established also grew in popularity, like that of Tommy Hilfiger, which was strongly represented by Puff Daddy and Snoop Dogg. FUBU jeans also started to have increased sales, thanks to Nelly and his crew.

Besides designer pieces, general articles of clothing also started to become popular. Shirts with hoods, now referred to as ‘hoodies,’ are now a staple in most individual’s closet space. Oversized t-shirts also became a popular look with street denim. The plain tees created a blank canvas for oversized accessories or designer jeans to stand out and be recognized.

Urban clothing designers are currently focusing their attention on Generation X. Generation X is a more savvy audience in a way that they have taken fashion designers best creations only to mix and match them and make them their own.

While bohemian chic and the grunge look were used for quite some time by urban Xers as a weapon in politics and rebellion, this group is now seeing that the true spirit of fashion is not just about breaking the rules for the sake of it, but exploring how the rules can relate to the way they see themselves in the world. This group is asking how they can express their individuality.

This generation of urban consumers has also become quite sophisticated in understanding how their clothing ought to fit and how fashion works. Designers are responding to this, making alterations such as designing men’s pants that hang from the waist and reach just above the shoe for a classy look, or designing traditional dress shirts and tailored clothing. Both of these looks are making a trendy new statement.

For those urban street style savvy individuals who aren’t into loud colors and yet want to maintain their unique look, fashion designers are giving them the best in denim wear to mix it with traditional sportswear. How does this look? Graphic t-shirts that are not the clichĂ©d skulls on tees, but have complex graphics on them paired with comfortable jeans with nothing on them. Khakis, cotton pants, and even contradictions such as wearing a destroyed t-shirt beyond recognition teamed up with a pair of clean-cut jeans or vice versa.

Urban fashion always changes as it should, lest everybody be wearing the same thing and nobody appearing unique.

Street Style for the Masses

For commuters, walking is an essential part of life. We don’t just teleport to the office and for the urban dweller, walking to the office or simply to the bus stop or train station is part of our daily routine. We get to brush shoulders with hundreds to thousands of pedestrians daily along the way and for people who just want to hang, walking to the their favorite coffee shop is also a fun exercise.

Street Style makes walking around the city worthwhile and also fun. For those who will probably not going to make it to the fashion runway, the street provides a free-for-all catwalk where anyone can wear their own style and walk around the city where thousands of eyes can see their own creativity through clothing.

A lot of clothing stores have dedicated lines for street style, since the masses are always out on the streets anyway. A lot of people have mistaken street style to the punks who would hang out on the streets and wreak havoc all over the city. The rebellious youth who would spray paint walls of buildings and the picket fence of the neighbors. Street style is far from that, in fact street style is for more mature people who has their own style and are not afraid to show it to the masses through walking around the city to work or simply to meet friends at a restaurant or hang at the park.
It’s really far from the converse sneakers that the youth would often be seen wearing.

People who are into the style of their own even have several stories to tell about their look of the day. It shows a deeper part of their personality sometimes and what they’re feeling. Sometimes, it is the way of getting in touch with their emotions and true enough – street style does not discriminate.

It doesn’t matter how old or how young you are, no matter what your body type is or whether you’re a man or a woman. If you want to strut your clothing style out there and show your personality through clothing then why not dress the way you’ve always wanted to get the right attention?

Different places also have different tastes, check out the style on the streets of Tokyo, London, Paris and New York! You can get several ideas on how to dress through the internet.

Street Style for the Modern Girl

Street style a few decades ago was always associated with a certain group and a certain culture. Why, who would forget the loving hippies in their street fashion that seemed to be worn almost everywhere? Of course, it didn’t start with the hippies, it started way back even before war broke out.

The great thing about street style today is that it captured the essence of it being casual, not too elegant but can also have a dash of elegance. It can be laid-back and easy-going for people who like to chill and are the people of their world. At the same time it could be serious to some, at least that’s what street style is all about today.

The number of styles that people are inspired from reincarnates themselves in their clothing, in this way they are still able to express their personality and individuality, gone are the days of the hippies but you may still come across a hippie-inspired look on the streets today.

Because of the internet and with the help of several fashion magazines, people have a huge selection of styles to choose from and get creative with. They can also fabricate their own style in order to show off their ingenuity with fashion.
Mixing and matching styles have never been a problem today and there are thousands of resources that can be found ranging from bargains to impossibly expensive ones.

The modern girl can go bohemian tomorrow for her street style or go gothic the day after tomorrow.
Street fashion have always been there but people are now taking it seriously since there are people who are taking photographs everywhere and posting it online. The chance of being posted online on a blog is high for big cities like New York, London and Tokyo.

Aside from being able to flaunt your style online, you can also get a chance to win some wonderful prizes by joining contests.

Wikifashionista.com has launched their summer end street style contest to honor the growing popularity of street fashion. The prizes range from shoes to amazing handbags and more.

If you feel like you have what it takes to win the prize then why not walk down the streets on your favorite outfit and take a video as well?
Your video is the key to winning as you need it to be uploaded via youtube and submit the link to the website. Check out wikifashionista.com/contest now!

Street Style has become the next big thing

The funny thing about street style is that you won’t find it on the streets, rather you can look at it without even leaving your home or office. This is simply because street style is online and you can browse as many photos of people dressed in their own style today and even take inspiration from.

The great thing about street style is that there are people who really dress creatively and somehoe outrageously that it’s good.
The only thing a person who features a blog that carries street style from real people is the go out and take photos from a simple point-and-click camera then he or she can easily upload it online.

This has made street style very popular especially in the big cities that are known to be the fashion capitals of the world.

The people of today who likes to dress up no longer obsess about ad campaigns, fashion runways, fashion magazines from the closed fashion cliques. People no longer listens to designers and simply tunes in on the internet, checking out the latest post of one of the most popular street style blogs. The most popular blog about street style has also turned into a book, becoming not only the rage online but also a bestselling book across the globe.

The thing about this is that for people who live in one of the big cities or fashion capitals in the world, they have become conscious of their clothes and tried to look more creatively and more expressively. The distinct style of a city when it comes to the clothes of its citizens somehow still remain but being able to tap into what the others are wearing in another city may alter that.

They said that the people have started to dress even more outrageously than before when they found out that there are several people out there who are looking for great looks on the streets and instead of people simply dressing to cover their bodies and fight the weather, they also wear clothes to be spotted and be featured online by a person whose name won’t even ring a bell in the fashion world.

It could be a negative effect in the world of fashion but at least a number of people are becoming aware of what they’re wearing and would at least make an effort to wear something that is attention catching.

Street Style Hot Off the Closet

The fashion runways are the road where super hot models walk down on while wearing designer clothes, photographers huddled on the side of the runway takes numerous photos that will then be printed on magazines. These magazines will of course be distributed to newsstands and other bookstores to be purchased by the fashion enthusiasts out there.

However, there has been a slight difference today when it comes to being inspired by clothing as people are more attracted to the down-to-earth approach provided by contemporary street style.

What is street style?
The streets have always been the grounds of fashionistas everywhere. Why, where else would the fashion divas flaunt their outfits if not on the streets for everyone to see? Street style has also been imbued with culture and statements. Back in the 60s and 70s, hippies dominated the streets with their laidback attires and long hair to par. The loving and easy going culture of the hippies or the flower people can easily be noticed by their clothes of ripped pants, excessively long hair (not just in the head portion), psychedelic colors and even the way they speak and more. They don’t give a dime about buying labeled products but would be jumping for joy when they find things in their closets that have been forgotten and they would happily use it again.

Flea markets and garage sales are rage for these people. And if you notice what’s happening today, it is very similar to what the hippies used to do as the street style urchin would get great deals from bargains, garage sales and also flea markets in town.

The economy’s condition has also contributed to this fact as the United States economy isn’t budging despite Obama’s promises of change.

But aside from flea markets or the trinkets you can find in your closet, why not win something for your indubitable street style? Wikifashionista.com is throwing a contest for people who love to street fashion and clothe themselves.

This contest will give you the chance to win awesome prizes and items from prestigious websites and clothing stores.

Street Style is for Casual Look

The main reason why street style has been a phenomenal hit across the globe is because of the larger scope of its audience, or in this case, it’s enthusiasts. The fashion enthusiasts who could never level with the bourgeois of society have clung to the legs of street style once it presented itself. It is free from any designer labels that dictates its price and has a more down-to-earth feel.

Clothes were sometimes sewn by the wearers themselves or bought on sales, bargains and even flea markets. All it takes to look good on the streets is some style and a bit of knowledge about fashion.
If you know how to coordinate colors and designs then you are good to go, imagination and creativity don’t cost a penny.

Looking like a million dollars and looking good has differences and when it comes to the streets, looking like a million dollars can attract you a gang of robbers. Casual look is often witness outside, people on the streets prefer to wear something comfortable if they were only to go the nearby café to drink coffee with friends or to hang at the park and eat ice cream or feed the pigeons.

Looking good won’t cost thousands of dollars and fashion street style blogs have proven that with candid photos of real people out on the street. These pictures have inspired a lot of people from different corners of the world and have urged them to dress better.

People have become conscious with what they wear and are driven to look good from the rest as there a lot of photographers roaming the streets of big cities to post on their websites. At least it had made the streets look better than before as people are trying harder to look their best and show off their style. If they didn’t have style, they forced themselves to come up with one.

If looking good isn’t enough to satisfy one’s confidence there are also contests being held by several websites. One of them is wikifashionista.com, a website about fashion that is also becoming quite popular, their summer end street style contest is calling up entries from street fashion aficionados. Great items are to be given away for the winner so for people who are avid about fashion on the street, this is something that is pretty hard to miss.

Street Style of our Times

The people of today are lucky with all the resources they can get their hands on as things are as conveniently available in one click. Street Style too is a trend that quickly spread throughout the world with the help of fashion blogs.

Now, people have the chance to see varying styles of people in different corners of the globe. Through these samples from real people from cities like Tokyo, New York, London and Paris, people from other places in the world can get several styles from these people or take inspirations from the styles of others.

People aren’t looking at magazines anymore for fashion sense as the availability of fashion blogs featuring normal people with great fashion style dominates the internet. People aren’t interested in looking at the endless faces of the same celebrities on magazines anymore and they find the average Jane or Joe on the streets wearing something they too can wear seem to be more appealing for their tastes.

The humble appeal of street style today appeals to the masses who are enthusiastic about fashion but aren’t conscious about designer labels. Street fashion promotes using creativity and imagination with procuring items to add to their outfit. It also promotes buying from bargains, sales, garage sales, flea markets and more in order to get new clothes. Fashion on the street has a casual appeal so being conscious with labels and names of designers aren’t a necessity, it is more on looking good with great color and piece coordination summed up with the stylish creativity of a person.

We all know that the economy isn’t looking pretty good and looking at celebrities wearing a handbag that costs more than your salary for a month will only evoke envy and bitterness. Street style is more on buying smart and saving up your money.
