Femme Fashionista Wrap Up (Part 2)

Hey fashionistas! So glad you’ve decided to check out Part 2 of our Femme Fashionista Wrap Up. We’ve already covered Beyonce, Katy Perry and Kelly Rowland as some of the best dressed celebrity fashionistas who hit the red carpet this past weekend. We thought it might be a nice change of pace to check out the fashion some of our Disney kids wore to what is now being called the biggest event in entertainment, the VMA’s. And we have a surprise ending for all of you fashionistas who love to see a great fashion nightmare. Check it all out below.

Selena Gomez in Julien Macdonald Fall 2011

Our first Disney Alum is Selena Gomez. Although we are a fan of little Miss Selena’s fashion, she just looks a little too young to be wearing this kind of dress. This black embroidered gothic Julien Macdonald dress with cut out bust and ascending hem line looks sophisticated on the runway model at the right, but Selena actually looks like a little girl playing dress up instead of achieving the edgy look we’re sure that she was going for. She’s just too darn cute! Hit or Miss?

Miley Cyrus in Roberto Cavalli Pre-Fall 2011

Next we have an all grown up Miley Cyrus wearing an animal print full-length gown from Roberto Cavalli with a very revealing low back. But why is she doing that “thing” the Disney girls try to do by choosing fashion that is far too provocative? There is something to be said for a well put together outfit. Someone needs to tell these ladies that age appropriateness does matter for all ages. Not just for little girls trying to grow up. Sigh!

Britney Spears in Moschino

Moving right along to Disney veteran Britney Spears in one of her best VMA outfits in years. Wearing a flirty sequin Moschino belted romper, the self-proclaimed Queen of Pop looked well put together, clean and sober! We really have to give it to Miss Spears for really turning her life around in a few short years. As an artist she is one of the biggest sellers of all time and there is no reason she should ever be seen as less than that. So we’d like to give a shout out to the hot mama of the hour Britney Spears. Welcome back girl and keep those hits coming.

Side note: We would have liked to see Britney in the dress Selena Gomez wore. Next time get WikiFashionista to style you Brit. Kisses!

Nicki Minaj goes Harajuku at the 2011 VMA Awards

Welcome to Niki Minaj’s Harajuku nightmare (just kidding). If this was a shout out to all of Niki’s Japanese fans then consider that message sent and received. We have no clue who designed her outfit or better yet who assembled it, but it comes with its own customized surgical mask and 3D ice cream cone necklace (kinda hot). Completely outside the box, but we can appreciate that Nicki used this huge platform to embrace this unique culture. Rather you’re shocked, confused or feeling it, fashion is creative and without boundaries. Don’t judge.
