Top 3 Runway to Retail Picks From London Fashion Week

Alright fashionistas! Moving right along to London fashion week, which started before we could even take a breather from New York the new collections showcased at New York fashion week. If you love fashion as much as we do, seeing the new designs from the best and brightest in the fashion business and discovering something different everyday about our favorites is inspiring to say the least. We thought we’d mix it up a bit and show you some of the SS 2012 collections from London fashion week that we believe had the most runway to retail appeal, meaning runway designs that can be sold in store immediately. Below are our top 3 picks.



Runway: Antonio Berardi

Let’s examine from left to right. The color blocked white and red jumpsuit is relaxed and loose fitting, which makes it a little less intimidating to wear. The look completed with a simple red tailored blazer which is a fashionistas staple for everyday attire. Next we love the cross body buttoned blazer paired with sequin harem skinny pants, this look will transition from day to night easily. And last but not least is the stunning red dress with lace embroidering on top and fitted on the bottom. The ¾ sleeves add a conservative finish to this sexy dress. Retail appeal - flattering silhouettes and tailored basics.



Runway: Jonathan Saunders
If you’re looking for the right way to do your color blocking you could learn a few things from the SS 2012 Jonathan Saunders collection. Knowing which color ways work best together is not an easy thing to do, so fair warning fashionistas if you don’t do your research you’ll end up looking a mess. So starting from left to right we like the mint green silk embroidered blazer paired with melon colored just below the knee length skirt. Then the sherbet orange stripe sweater top paired whit the silk green knee length skirt. Last we see a layering peach top over a tank top with loose white jacket paired with baby blue and white oversized skirt. Retail appeal - bold color prints and exotic fabrics.



Runway: Paul Smith
From left to right, first we see loose fitting ankle length slacks accessorized with a skinny belt and aviator shades. The turquoise short sleeve top has an interesting mix of light and dark fabric. Light fabrics and button up shirts are another trend to look for this coming spring. The crisp tailored tops are definitely the star of this line. Next we see a lovely yellow skirt that’s paired nicely with a peach men’s shirt. Last we seek a plaid blazer cinched at the waist with matching pants. No heels for this collection, it was strictly flats. Retail appeal – Masculine designs and relaxed fits.
